Jehu Group Managing Director of Construction Marc Jehu is on his bike again this time cycling from Nice to Rome in aid of Male Cancer Charity Prostate Cymru.
The charity is the leading prostate health charity in Wales, founded in 2003. The charity has grown from strength to strength over the last decade and is mainly a voluntary group dedicated to fighting Prostate Cancer, procuring equipment and raising awareness in Wales.
Marc is joining a team of 42 and will be cycling 550 gruelling miles from Nice in the South of France to the capital of Italy, Rome. They will climb 36000 ft over the 6 days from September 2nd – 8th.
Many of the team previously cycled from Barcelona to Monaco in 2016, Marc comment: “We have been training hard over the past few months it’s going to be a tough ride but it’s for such an amazing cause we’re going to put everything into it.”
Annually throughout the UK men’s prostate cancer claims 11,000 lives, with up to 32,000 new cases diagnosed. They are rare in men under 50, but the condition becomes more pronounced and common with age.
The team are hoping to raise at least £25,000 for the charity to bring their overall fundraising total since 2007 to £125,000.
The charity has no national or government funding and relies on the kindness and generosity of its fundraisers and volunteers to fulfil its core aims:
• Raising Awareness
• Supporting treatments and improving equipment
• Funding Research
