Jehu Project Services has won a contract to design and build a new retail scheme in Monmouth.
The £1m contract was awarded by Henry Boot Developments Limited due to Jehu’s extensive experience in retail shell construction for clients including Co-op, Tesco Express and Morrisons.
The new contract will see Jehu design and build a 8,150 sq ft retail park on Rockfield Road, Monmouth.
The scheme will comprise two buildings with associated car parking. One unit totaling 4,000 sq ft has already been pre-let to The Co-operative who will anchor the site. The other 4,150 sq ft retail block has received strong interest from potential occupiers.
The works involve part demolition of poultry sheds along with a bungalow on the site and construction of retail shells to proposed tenants specifications.
Neil McCarthy, commercial director of Jehu Project Services, said: “This scheme initially exceeded the client’s budget, however, our pre-construction team were able to value engineer the scheme working collaboratively with our design consultants.
“I believe this efficient programming, along with our retail experience, were the main drivers for Henry Boot in awarding us this contract.”
This is the latest contract win for Jehu with Henry Boot Developments following a successful working relationship on several other retail and commercial schemes, including the construction of Waitrose in Warminster and a Premier Inn in Malvern.
