At Jehu Group our learning and development strategy aims to ensure our employees have the skills and competence to meet the current and future needs of the business.
As a valued member of the team you will have the ability to progress your career through personal development opportunities and have access to professional and technical training.
Whether it’s professional or health, safety and environment, quality, technical, behavioural or leadership or management development, we will seek to ensure that you are provided with the appropriate development opportunities designed to meet both your developments needs and those of the business.
Personal Development Reviews
All Jehu staff have regular PDR meetings with their line manager. The review meeting is an opportunity to review their targets and performance and consider their development needs and personal objectives.
Site Managers Development Programme
We have invested in developing our own bespoke training programme for Site Managers. All our site managers have been through this eight-module programme and each year this programme is rolled out for all new starters. The programme covers modules such as Lean Construction and leadership standards, but also aims to train our site managers on the Jehu way of doing things.
Management & Leadership Development
We support many staff members through management and leadership qualifications including the Construction Futures Wales programme, which is run by Cardiff Metropolitan University. This extensive course offers a Postgraduate Certificate (PgC) in Leadership & Management and a Level 5 and Level 7 qualification in association with the Chartered Management Institute (CMI). We recognise the importance of strong inspiring leadership and invest in executive coaching and mentoring in this critical area of staff development.
Health and Safety
A safe and secure working environment is our number one priority. Everyone should return home at the end of each day to their friends and family safe and sound. With this aim in mind we invest heavily in accredited, high quality health and safety training.
Further Education and Professional Membership Status
We recognise the value of encouraging our staff to pursue formal qualifications and Chartered status. We encourage everyone to achieve appropriate professional qualifications and employees can request study leave for professional body examinations. By studying and gaining higher level educational qualifications in their relevant subject area, our employees are better equipped to operate at the highest possible professional level delivering a first-class service to our clients.
We encourage our employees to work towards achieving Chartered status of a professional body (e.g. CIOB, RICS, CIPD, CIPS, RIBA, RTPI etc.) and we meet the annual costs of membership fees for our employees. By employing Chartered professionals who have gained a specific level of skill or competence in a particular field of work, we benefit from the industry best practice and best in class professional services that brings into our organisation. Such standards and the associated frameworks give assurance to our stakeholder and clients that we will be providing a professional service.
Jehu Group are working towards being a Chartered CIOB Company and currently hold CIOB training partner status.
