Enabling work is now underway to construct a new 60 bed ‘Dan y Mynydd’ Extra Care facility in Porth, for our client Linc (Cymru) replacing the obsolete care home building, located off Bronwydd Avenue which had not housed residents for some time. Extra Care’ delivers modern accommodation with 24-hour support for older people’s assessed needs, allowing them to live as independently as possible. Demolition of the previous building had already taken place and Jehu are now undertaking further enabling works on site and looking forward to progressing swiftly with the scheme during the spring.

In partnership with Linc and RCT County Borough Council, Jehu Group will deliver the c£14M facility which will deliver dining and commercial kitchen, lounge, hair salon, activity room, laundry room, Day Care centre, offices, assisted bathroom, plant room. The apartments will be split across the lower, upper ground, first and second floors consisting 6nr 2 bed properties with remaining properties being one bed.  The new building will retain the site’s vehicle access, which will be slightly reconfigured, off Bronwydd Avenue. In total, 33 car park spaces will be provided, along with external cycle and buggy stores.
