It’s been a busy and positive year for leading Welsh property and construction firm, Jehu Group. It has been announced that Coastal Housing Group and Jehu Group have won the 2017 LABC Cymru, Building Control – All Wales Building Excellence Award for their Carnglas Court scheme based in Swansea.
The £4m scheme which is situated on the former Sketty Primary School site and forms part of a long-term regeneration scheme was completed November 2016. The old school which was demolished prior to Jehu’s arrival on site and replaced with 43 contemporary one and two bedroom residential flats and a retail unit which hosts a coffee shop.
Chris Parks, Contracts Manager at Jehu commented; “We are so pleased to have been able to build this fantastic scheme for the Coastal Housing Group. All our hard work has paid off, being recognised for this award is a real credit to the whole project team.”
The LABC Cymru held a presentation event on Friday 22nd September at the iconic Principality Stadium in Cardiff where Colin Blick, responsible for Building Regulations at Welsh Government and Paul Everall, Chief Executive of LABC officially presented the award.
Jason Smith, Site Manager during the build of Carnglas Court, attended the awards on behalf of Jehu Group and stated; “It was a real honour to attend the event and be recognised for this award, as guests of Coastal Housing Group, we have a great relationship with the client and feel very proud of the scheme we delivered.”
